Kale Crisps

Kale crisps are all the rage on the healthy food market at the moment, quickly becoming the healthy go-to snack when the craving for a savoury snack strikes. And it’s not surprising! Kale is one of the superfoods, and actually really tasty in crisp form. Kale crisps are really easy and quick to make, the perfect snack for a Saturday night at home.

Personally I buy my kale from Riverford as I found it tastes best from there, but obviously other kale will work too 🙂

fresh kale – as much as will fit onto a baking tray
1 tbsp coconut oil, melted. Alternatively you can also use cooking oil such as olive oil
pinch of salt

Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees. Line your baking tray with alu-foil or greaseproof paper so your kale crisps don’t stick to it.

Wash the kale thoroughly and remove the hard stalks. Tear it into crisp size pieces.

Spread the kale on the baking tray, drizzle with oil and salt and toss to make sure everything is coated evenly.

Bake in the oven for approx. 10 mins or until crisp. Keep an eye on them – depending on how powerful your oven is, they might be done sooner!

Transfer into a bowl and voila, they’re ready to enjoy.
